Albemarle supervisors cancel bond referendum

There will be no bond referendum on Albemarle County residents’ Nov. 8 ballots.

The Board of Supervisors on Thursday decided against moving forward with a $12 million proposal for local government projects that it had been considering after the School Board in June withdrew a $96 million request that supervisors reduced to no more than $47 million.

Supervisors voted 5-1 — Supervisor Rick Randolph cast the nay vote — to instead keep the county projects in the Capital Improvement Plan and fund them a different way.
