Six companies apply for CRHA development partnership

Six companies have applied to partner with Charlottesville’s public housing authority to develop underutilized property at South First Street and on the corner of Levy Avenue and Avon Street.

Earlier this month, after issuing a Request for Qualifications this spring, the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority determined that six respondents are eligible partners in its plan to build new mixed-income housing on land it already owns.

Though some of those companies identified local partners in their applications and have experience developing property in the Charlottesville area, the only local company on the housing authority’s list of six qualified respondents is Riverbend Development.
