Organizer of white nationalist rally asks judge to allow another event in August

Jason Kessler has asked a federal judge to impose an injunction on the city of Charlottesville that would allow a demonstration to take place in Emancipation Park on the anniversary of last summer's white nationalist Unite the Right rally.

Kessler filed suit against the city in March after the city denied him a permit to hold a political demonstration in Emancipation Park on Aug. 11 and 12. In explanation, the city said the event would present a danger to public safety.

Kessler argued that the denial violates his First Amendment rights.
