Documents show elected officials' displeasure with local tourism board in advance of revamp plan

It’s true — there are some matters Charlottesville and Albemarle County’s elected officials do see eye to eye on.

After legislation they requested was signed by Gov. Ralph Northam last month, city and county officials are preparing to appoint from their own ranks new members to the region’s tourism board.

Though they remain at odds over matters concerning the Ragged Mountain trails, the county’s court facilities in the city and the 1982 revenue-sharing agreement, officials from both localities have been coordinating since last fall to overhaul how the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau is governed and managed.
