Albemarle delays discussion on proposed stormwater fee

The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors has delayed discussion of a proposed stormwater utility fee until at least February, in an effort to give supervisors time to hear more information from county staff.
The board was originally scheduled to take up the billing structure, the rate, the plan for public awareness and engagement and other aspects on Jan. 3.  According to a news release from the county, staff wanted to defer the discussion The
“This is a complex subject, and we’ve been moving quickly,” Greg Harper, chief of the county’s environmental services, said Friday. “We wanted to give the board members more time to receive and understand the details.”
