7th Annual Fall Harvest Festival

Friday, September 23rd, 5:30-­‐7:30pm on the grounds of Buford Middle School, 1000 Cherry Avenue, rain or shine

What: Charlottesville City School families are invited to celebrate all eight City Schoolyard Gardens with our 7th Annual Harvest Festival. Free BBQ dinner with veggies, dessert, apple cider press and tastings. The winner of the Student Veggie Cook-­‐Off, Sweet Pepper Pasta Salad, will be served. Activities include student-­‐led garden tours, corn grinding, face painting, adding to our garden mural and more. AVID will be hosting a craft fair. Music by 101.3 Jamz radio station. 

About City Schoolyard Garden: Launched in 2010 with a 4,560 square foot organic garden at Buford Middle School, City Schoolyard Garden (CSG) is an independent non-­‐profit with the mission to cultivate academic achievement, health, environmental stewardship, and community engagement through garden-­‐based experiential learning. In partnership with Charlottesville City Schools and many other supporters, CSG also manages gardens at the high school and all six elementary schools in Charlottesville.
