Keith O. Woodard, owner and developer of West2nd is pleased to announce the selection of a Construction Manager as well as approval from the Board of Architectural Review (BAR) for the new luxury condominiums in Downtown Charlottesville. West2nd is a vibrant mixed-use complex overlooking a new civic plaza to become the permanent home for the Charlottesville City Market located on the lot next the current City Market site.

The West2nd team has chosen Hourigan as the project’s Construction Manager. Hourigan is a mid-Atlantic construction management and development firm with an extensive resume of over 500 completed construction projects encompassing commercial, retail, housing, industrial buildings, and historic renovations. Hourigan Director of Client Solutions Michael Henley said “Hourigan is pleased to be selected as the project’s Construction Manager and to collaborate with the West2nd team’s vision and local expertise to benefit the Charlottesville community.”

In June of 2018, the BAR approved the massing and site design proposed by West2nd in their certificate of appropriateness as compatible with the property and other properties in the Downtown area. With these approved, demolition and construction of the project is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2018 with delivery in late 2020.

The West2nd sales gallery on the Downtown mall is open and continuing to take reservations for the residential condominiums. West2nd is being developed under the direction of Keith O. Woodard who also founded Woodard Properties. Woodard Properties has been serving Charlottesville businesses, students, and the community since 1981, providing UVA student housing, traditional housing, affordable housing, and commercial space to Charlottesville residents, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
