The first round of numbers paint a clear picture: A grade-separated interchange at U.S. 29-Hydraulic, similar to the one at U.S. 29-Rio, is the best choice.

But, also similar to U.S. 29-Rio, additional concerns have surfaced that the numbers can’t answer at present.

According to information given an advisory panel that’s been meeting to evaluate the project, a grade-separated interchange — one that would be managed by traffic lights on Hydraulic — saves the most time for motorists and provides the most safety. Those advantages are impressive.
