UVa plans include making areas bicycle and pedestrian friendly

No car? No problem.

In the next few years, the University of Virginia and the UVa Foundation have a goal of making it easier for students, staff and tenants to walk and bike through Grounds and the North Research Park.

On Friday, UVa officials presented a unified vision of development for Brandon Avenue, Ivy Road and the North Research Park. The so-called redevelopment zones, according to university architect Alice Raucher, will connect North and Central Grounds, add hospitality and conference space, improve parking and stormwater retention and attract new tenants.
