Burley tests educational augmented reality technology from Google

Burley Middle School students on Thursday got chance to test out new augmented reality technology from Google.

Differing from virtual reality, which typically uses a screen and headset to make users feel as if they’re in a different place, augmented reality overlays objects into the existing setting. Some examples include “Pokémon Go,” Google stickers and Snapchat filters.

Taking a different route than gaming, Google has been recently beta testing a new technology called Google Expeditions that seeks to supplement teaching.
