School divisions seeking funding, support

Funding and addressing teacher shortage concerns are among the top education priorities for legislators headed to the General Assembly on Wednesday. And while they meet and discuss these matters in Richmond after an election that shifted the House of Delegates' overall representation, educators in Charlottesville and Albemarle County will look on, hoping their concerns at the local level are met by their representatives at the state level.
Every year, the city and county school divisions put together a legislative priorities package to present to local delegates and senators that advocates for — and in some cases against — certain issues and topics and issues in the state legislature.
