The Albemarle County School Board gave the go ahead on Thursday to an outside company to start the process of installing a cellphone tower at Western Albemarle High School.
The board approved the concept proposal for a 135-foot tall monopole to be built at the school in an effort to improve wireless coverage for the surrounding area.
The tower will be built by Milestone Communications, the same company that is working to build a cell tower at Albemarle High School, which was approved by the Board of Supervisors last year.
