Decision on Yancey's future looms after May 25 hearing

When Lucian Jackson spoke to the Albemarle County School Board during its meeting last week, he asked the officials a similar question twice: When they make a decision whether to close Yancey Elementary or keep it open, will they have made the right choice?
 
“I do hope that when you make your decision, the following morning you can get up and look yourself in the mirror and say, ‘Did I do my best, or did I bow to the will of the people?’” he said. “If you bow to the will of the people, let it be the people of Esmont. They’re the ones whose children whose future is in your hand.”
