At Albemarle school, a collaborative, community spirit in learning

Educators at Baker-Butler Elementary are looking to implement a new approach to creative thinking and problem solving in the school’s curriculum, while at the same time trying to become a national leader in that model of thinking for other elementary schools.
The concept is known as “design thinking,” which is a methodology that incorporates an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving. The idea is focused on “people-centered” problem solving, said Steve Saunders, principal of Baker-Butler.
