Traffic in Sunset-Old Lynchburg area a concern

Some residents in Albemarle County’s southern neighborhood development area are concerned about the lack of plans for road improvements to cope with increasing construction.
In the area of Old Lynchburg Road, just south of Charlottesville, about 700 new residential units are in the works and about 200 units are awaiting final approvals, which could add hundreds of residents to the vicinity.
Last week, Supervisors Liz Palmer and Rick Randolph held a community meeting, attended by about 70 people, to discuss concerns related to the developments, including traffic, road conditions and multi-use paths.
