Charlottesville Democrats will hold a primary on June 13 to select the party’s nominees for this year’s races.
The primary will determine the party nominees for City Council and commonwealth’s attorney, and the ballot also could include candidates for commissioner of the revenue, sheriff and treasurer if more than one candidate for any one of those three positions enters the race, according to the Democratic Party of Charlottesville.
“If more candidates qualify for any office than there are positions available, then a primary is held,” said General Registrar Rosanna Bencoach.
