Albemarle’s interim county executive, Doug Walker, on Friday presented to the Board of Supervisors a budget request that represents a 5.4 percent increase over the current budget.
Walker’s balanced budget, which has no proposed tax rate increases, contains projected revenues and matching expenditures — for capital and operational costs — of nearly $400 million each. The projected overall increase in revenue is nearly $21.9 million, or 5.8 percent higher than the current adopted budget.
