One late, sunny Friday afternoon in mid-March, drama students at Monticello High School were inside the school’s auditorium working on the choreography and musical numbers for “Memphis,” their spring musical performance set to open in May.
This play, along with many others done by the drama students at Monticello High over the years, focuses more on communities and characters of color, and showcases more diverse characters than typical high school productions.
