Democrat Norman Dill is a candidate for the Rivanna seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. Three of the six seats on board will be determined in the Nov. 3 election. Other candidates in this race include: Lawrence Gaughan (I); and Richard Lloyd (R).

Bio: Norman grew up in a large family and worked in his family’s retail lumberyards before leaving for college. An active volunteer, he served as president of Charlottesville-Albemarle Recycling Together in the 1980’s, and has served at several nonprofits since. He is currently finance chair at Twice is Nice Resale Shop which supports Mountainside Senior Living, and is Vice President of Virginia Foodworks. In addition to Rebecca’s, he has operated Harlowe-Powell Auctions and the Ruckersville Gallery. Norman has taught classes at PVCC on starting one’s own business and has informally assisted many local people with their entrepreneurial ventures.
